Blair is the Managing Director and Founder of BCD Group. With over 17 years' experience Blair has a wealth of knowledge on industry best practice, how to add value for our clients and the Waikato region. With a vast project portfolio Blairs’ expertise span bulk store, commercial retail, industrial processing and distribution facilities, healthcare, education, retail mall precincts, and earthquake re-strengthening and sports facilities. Blair has a passion for working within a team of like-minded industry experts so that the end product is of the highest possible quality. He believes that early involvement from all consultants will lead to a great design if the team starts with the end in mind.

David is the Technical Director of BCD Group. Taranaki born and bred, Dave's upbringing on a sheep and beef farm kickstarted his journey as a Structural Engineer from a young age, often out building bridges, dams and forts. Fast forward to today and Dave now has over 20 years of industry experience in both Civil & Structural design, with experience in a wide range of sectors and building materials. Dave is well recognised by our clients for his proactive approach to construction project management specifically relating to safety and efficiency.

Commercial Manager/CFO

Mitch is a Chartered Accountant with a wide range of experience across several different business sectors both in New Zealand and the UK. Mitch is well known for his lateral thinking and pragmatism which he puts down to a combination of his farming background and training in one of the ‘Big 4’ accounting firms. His involvement in a range of different businesses across the construction and development industries during trying times, has given Mitch an appreciation for risk associated in these activities and the need for a no surprises approach. Mitch is generous with his time and energy and is a highly active member of the community and sports clubs within the Waikato.

General Manager Operations

Sam is a highly motivated and dedicated professional with strong communication skills. He is a team player with an ability to be single minded when necessary. Through 10+ years experience he has developed technical knowledge, business experience, and problem solving, lateral thinking, strong numeracy skills, mediation and motivational skills as well as flexibility to adapt to changing environments.

People & Culture Manager

As the People & Culture Manager for BCD Group, Dianne knows that it is our people who create our competitive advantage. Her approach is to work alongside everyone within the company to ensure we are constantly evolving our employee experience, allowing us to deliver our best for our clients. Her passion lies in creating an environment where everyone can thrive and reach their fullest potential through a modern approach to people processes and programs.
With 15+ years' experience in HR, Organisational Development and H&S within rapid growth, and international environments, Dianne is well versed at operating at a fast pace and influencing decisions that generate positive outcomes for people and business.

Stan is an experienced Structural Engineer with over seven years of comprehensive experience in the construction sector. Throughout his tenure at BCD Group, he has demonstrated proficiency in overseeing the design, construction monitoring, and project management across various sectors including, Industrial processing and distribution, commercial. retail, education, high-end residential as well as, seismic assessment and res-strengthening. Stan consistently endeavours to optimise client outcomes by employing innovative methodologies, creative problem-solving, and streamlined design processes. He possesses a strong collaborative ethos, relishing the opportunity to engage with multidisciplinary teams of industry experts to successfully deliver projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgetary constraints, and stringent quality benchmarks.

Callum is the Hamilton Office Manager for BCD Group. He has been involved in the investigation, design and project management of many residential, commercial and land development projects across the North Island. Callums’ broad experience allows him to provide concise region-specific advice to our clients. Taranaki born and Ngati Ruanui, Callum is a motivated and dedicated individual and a natural people person. He strives to provide clients with value add and cost-effective solutions. Callum has developed strong technical knowledge, allowing him to provide practical solutions to construction challenges.

Cameron is a Chartered Professional Structural Engineer with over six years professional experience in delivering efficient and innovative solutions within the dynamic environment of BCD Group. Cameron’s work demonstrates a deep understanding of various structural systems and materials and practical knowledge of construction methods. Morna is a highly motivated Engineer who has established herself in the Bay of Plenty as a solution minded consultant. Morna thrives in a collaborative environment where the focus is delivering a high quality product for the client. Her expertise spans across industrial and commercial builds to education facilities and seismic strengthening work. Recent projects include Omokoroa Village development and Whakatohea Mussel processing factory. With a diverse professional background Morna has developed sound critical thinking and problem solving skills and a flexible approach to adapt to changing environments.

Preston is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 18 years’ experience in engineering design, including project and construction management. He has worked on numerous projects throughout New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.
Preston is a practical problem-solver with experience in land development, bulk earthworks, geometric design, and three waters design.
He has worked across a range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, corrections, education, residential, and local government.

Christchurch Office Manager | Structural Engineer

Campbell quickly gained a passion for structural design, taking part in any project that came his way. As a result of this he has been involved in a wide range of projects, from high end residential houses, to large scale industrial warehouses and low-rise commercial and mixed use buildings. A balance of technical ability, empathy for other people’s points of view and knowledge around construction process allows for a big picture mentality, helping clients to achieve their goals.

Adam is the Structural Engineering Manager for BCD Group. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and has over a decade’s experience in the engineering industry on projects up to the value of $100 million. Adam is committed to achieving building solutions which fit the needs of our clients and the community through early project collaboration to understand the projects key drivers.
He has designed and managed a variety of commercial, industrial, medical and residential projects. This includes the multi award-winning Riverbank Mezz Box and Tristram Precinct. Adam has experience working with varied structural systems and materials and a practical understanding of construction methods. He strives to provide innovative, material efficient, and cost-effective solutions to clients.

Fire Engineering Team Leader

Tyler is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Fire Engineering. He specialises in the use of fire engineering modelling software to develop practical, cost-effective design solutions that meet the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code.
With experience across both public and private sectors, Tyler has contributed to a wide range of projects including healthcare facilities, retail centres, and large-scale commercial developments. He is skilled in tailoring fire safety strategies to address the specific challenges of each project, delivering solutions that are both effective and compliant.

Environmental and Infrastructure Manager

Mike is the Environmental and Infrastructure Manager at BCD Group and is Chartered Professional Engineer (Geotechnical). He has 20+ years experience in ground engineering for land development, building and infrastructure projects across both public and private sectors. Mike understands the interfaces across disciplines and how ongoing active co-ordination are vital for the successful delivery of your project. Mike communicates risks and opportunities early in a project. He can confidently explain the effect of ground conditions on the project to both the client and design team.

Geotechnical Engineer Manager

Mitch joined BCD group after graduating from university and has progressed his career to becoming the Geotechnical Engineering Manager in 2023. Over a seven-year career his industry experience has predominantly been in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. Mitch is a chartered engineer and has worked on a wide range of projects from small residential projects to multi-million dollar retail and community facilities.
Mitch understands the impact and value of communicating risks and opportunities to the client early in a project.

Surveying Manager

With over 26 years of experience in the Land Surveying industry Ted brings a broad range of skills to the team as our Surveying Manager. Before merging with BCD Group Ted was the owner and Director of a successful Waikato surveying company, meaning he has a deep understanding of the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. Ted’s experience spans across rural and urban cadastral surveying, as well as partnering with local authorities and Waka Kotahi in matters relating to road, crown land and public land.

Environmental & Planning Manager

Simon is an experienced Environmental Manager with over 20 years experience in the construction sector, particularly in the delivery of large, complex infrastructure projects all over New Zealand. His ability to lead multiple disciplinary teams and facilitate the successful mobilisation of projects so that they start and finish on time, deliver on environmental outcomes is well recognised. Simon's enthusiastic and practical approach brings teams together to minimise delays, protects and enhances client reputations and delivering top quality yet cost effective solutions.

John is a BIM specialist and Structural Technician with over 36 years’ experience working in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. Over this time, he has been involved in the structural detailing/modelling of a variety of projects, both large and small, in timber, concrete and steel.
