Intern & Graduate Programme

Ready to start designing your Legacy with BCD?

Applications for our Graduate and Intern program are closed

From the very first day that we opened our doors back in 2010 we recognised the importance of having a thriving Intern and Graduate program. As our consultancy has continued to grow, so too does the number of internship and graduate roles we are able to offer students each year.

Interns

As an intern we want your summer with us to be all about professional and personal growth. Here at BCD we have a commitment to developing well rounded property professionals. This starts by working alongside the budding consultants of the future to grow a well rounded skillset that will have a positive impact on our industry.
We achieve this by getting you involved in meaningful projects, some of which will take you out of your comfort zone from the very first week. Our well established buddy system means you will have someone to help you throughout the summer so that the challenges you might be facing turn into positive wins for you.
Our company values are woven into how we approach our intern program, with a real focus being placed on team camaraderie. The peers sitting alongside you during your summer with us will be great connections to have as you continue to grow your career within the industry.

Graduates

As a Graduate at BCD Group you can expect to get out of the experience just as much as you put in. From day one you will be supported by the team to develop a strong foundation of consulting skills that will see you grow into a well rounded property professional.

We pride ourselves on being able to nurture Graduates into well respected consultants as demonstrated by the continued success our earlier Graduates are having. Many go on to be highly successful Project Managers and three out of five current Office Managers initially joined the company as a Graduate.

Our Recruitment Process

Our campaign for finding great Graduates starts in March and for Interns starts in June each year. You will see us popping up at the university career events with some of our friendliest consultants to tell you all about what makes being a consultant at BCD so great. For our Surveying Interns and Graduates this process occurs in August in line with the Otago Surveying School careers event.
Submitting your application is easy, simply attach the documents listed here to an email and send it through to careers@bcdgroup.nz

We look forward to seeing your application come through.

"BCD Group have provided me with endless opportunities to improve, consistently challenging me and providing me with the required support to be successful. Since starting, I have been encouraged to step outside of my discipline of expertise and learn more about the industry as a whole. Everyone is super approachable and accommodating so it is easy to ask questions or seek out additional support.

The culture here is what sells BCD for me. The company have heaps of opportunities to get involved with social sports and events, making it very easy to build good friendships; because of this, the workplace environment is fun and enjoyable to be in."

Ben Riwhi - Draughtperson

My journey with BCD Group began as an intern, balancing work with classes for about 3 to 4 days a week. Initially based in the Hamilton office, I spent the first three months under the mentorship of a senior draftsman who guided me through my initial projects. As my classes wrapped up, I transitioned to the Tauranga office and was immediately captivated by the vibrant work culture.

On my very first day, we headed to CBK, indulging in chicken wings and rounds of beers—a warm welcome indeed. Soon after, I found myself enjoying the perks of the office, with someone pouring me a beer from the office taps, and frequently having dinner sorted with our beloved "bizhub" or pizza nights. Beyond the fun, what truly stood out was the warmth and camaraderie among my colleagues, making each day genuinely exciting. My internship seamlessly transformed into full-time employment upon completion of my final assignment, marking the beginning of an enriching journey with BCD Group."

Aimee Palmer - Graduate Planner

"Being a grad at BCD is a fantastic learning experience. I have been able to broaden my horizons with my work on a day to day basis. I am always learning something new whether it be within my own discipline or another which gives me a great understanding on how all disciplines work together to give a great result. BCD is a supportive team, who are always up for a laugh, and are always willing to participate in extra curricular activities. At BCD I have learnt to never be afraid to ask questions and everyone is happy to help each other achieve their goals."

The best part of my experience at BCD is that people truly care about you as a person and about your professional growth. The most valuable thing I have learned at BCD is never to be afraid to ask questions."
