Hamilton Rowing Club Redevelopment

Hamilton Rowing Club Redevelopment | Waikato

Celebrating Heritage. Delivering Future Ready Community Infrastructure.

Founded in 1903 and proudly located on Hamilton’s Ferry Bank Reserve since 1905, Hamilton Rowing Club is one of the city’s most enduring sporting institutions. Its redevelopment represents a significant investment in both heritage and future performance, ensuring the club remains a vibrant hub for athletes and the wider community for generations to come.

The revitalised facility strengthens the club’s long standing connection to the Waikato River, transforming the existing clubhouse into a modern, sustainable destination. The upgraded design incorporates contemporary training facilities, including a fully equipped gym and dedicated cardio spaces, alongside a new café and restaurant that opens the club to the public and activates the riverfront year round.

Importantly, the hospitality offering has been carefully integrated within the existing building footprint, maximising functionality while respecting the site’s heritage and environmental context. This approach supports long term operational sustainability and creates an inviting destination that benefits both members and visitors alike.

BCD Group is proud to be delivering Planning, Civil, Structural, and Fire Engineering services for this landmark community project. Our integrated, multi disciplinary approach ensures seamless coordination across all stages of design and delivery, contributing to the longevity, resilience, and ongoing success of one of Hamilton’s oldest sporting clubs.
