The Te Kuiti Hospital Helipad project aimed to design a new replacement helipad. The solution involved relocating the helipad and installing piles along the outer edge to ensure long term resilience.
This project was complex due to the existing infrastructure beneath the proposed helipad location, necessitating careful arrangement of piles to avoid clashes and to maintain minimum offset distances. Onsite investigations were coordinated among multiple parties, including the rescue helicopter team, who could provide at best 30 minutes' notice to clear the area.
BCD Group provided comprehensive Surveying, Environmental, Geotechnical, and Civil Engineering Services for this project.
