An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Planning Team Leader to join our vibrant team of total property professionals. We are looking for a motivated leader who is passionate about building high-performing teams, shaping client visions into reality, and making a real impact on the industry.

Our planning team works across Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga, and we welcome applicants from any of these locations. Strong local connections and broad planning experience are essential.

As a confident and inspiring leader, you will provide clear guidance and support to both the planning team and other consultants within BCD. You will have a proven ability to mentor and develop planners at all career stages, and you will be well versed at adding value to client projects. If you thrive on collaboration and love working with specialists to deliver exceptional outcomes, this role is for you!

What we are looking for:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree and ideally 10+ years’ experience in NZ

  • Full membership with NZPI (or working towards it)

  • Proven experience in private planning

  • A genuine passion for leveraging specialist input to achieve the best results

  • Strong knowledge of legislation and regulatory frameworks

  • A natural problem solver with an eye for detail

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with ease

  • Experience mentoring planners at all stages of their career

  • Proven capability to work across multi-disciplinary projects, adding value through collaboration
