Scarborough Project | Bay of Plenty
BCD provided Surveying, Geotech, Civil and Structural services for the two lot subdivision. The site was located in a flood plain with a high water table which made the stormwater solution tricky. BCD worked constructively with Western Bay of Plenty District Council to achieve a pragmatic stormwater solution and good outcome for the client.
The site had a shallow crust with liquefiable layers below. Due to the flood levels the dwellings were raised off the ground to allow flood waters to pass underneath meaning the foundation system was timber poles. The structural and geotechnical team worked collaboratively to achieve a cost effective foundation system for the client while remaining within the site constraints.
