Te Puna Wai Kātea

Te Puna Wai Kātea is a purpose-built mental health rehabilitation facility located on the Taranaki Base Hospital campus. Officially opened in June 2025, the 385m² development is part of Health New Zealand’s nationwide initiative to improve access to modern, fit-for-purpose mental health services.
The facility offers a restorative environment featuring four short- to medium-term stay rooms, communal living spaces, and culturally integrated design elements that reflect Taranaki tikanga.
BCD Group was engaged to provide Surveying, Geotechnical, Civil, Structural, and Fire Engineering services, ensuring the facility met stringent safety and functionality.
